From the President

Hi Every One!

I don't think anyone went to the 'Blessing of the Rides' this year ; it was too cold and rainy.

We actually had a new activity in April. Some of us went to a Cruise-In on April 30th at Meadowbrook Theatre. As a thank you for us showing our cars before the play we were able to see Breaking Up Is Hard To Do. It was a fun musical comedy production using Neil Sedaka's music. There were two rows of cars in one row was our cars; the opposite row was a Corvette Club. Many thanks to Greg Cohan for letting us know about this event; and to Earl Harper for e-mailing the information out. I think everyone had a great time!

The Sterling Heights Memorial Day Parade is Monday, May 31st with a picnic at Jeff & Sandra Martin's afterward. Be sure to sign up for it at our next meeting.

We need some suggestions for things to do.

See you at our next meeting on, Monday, May 17.

Jim Snyder

I've never been one that was very comfortable asking for money...though my parents may disagree.  But when it comes to supporting a worthy cause, especially one that affects my loved ones, I put aside my uncomfortableness and ask away!  I just wanted to thank everyone from GTSCA for your generous donations to the National MS Society and the 2010 Detroit Walk. For those of you who may not know, my sister, Sarah, was diagnosed with MS in 2007.  To look at her, you'd never know. She's such a strong and giving person that it only feels natural to give back to her and everyone else who has to deal with this disease every day.  Your contributions will go towards continued funding of research that will one day find a cure!  If you're on Facebook, look me up.  I'll be updating my Participant Page and will also post some photos from the walk this weekend.

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart...may God Bless you!!!

Abigail Prout

Meadowbrook Theater

April 30, 2010

We had eight kitcars, a Morgan and a 57 Chevy on display at the theater. There was also a 53 Corvette re-creation done on a modern Corvette chassis which was parked with us. The car show ran from 6:00 till 8:00pm when the stage show "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do" started. It was a fun show, which features the songs of Neil Sedaka. The weather for this event was just picture perfect.

Sterling Heights Memorial Day Parade

Monday May 31st

Just like in years past, the parade will be followed by a backyard barbecue at the Martin's. It's a fun event and we'd love to have a good turn-out. You should be at staging area E1 by no later than 8:30 am. You need to enter the Civic Center parking lot from Utica Road at the driveway on the North end of the Civic Center. There will be lots of people to direct you to staging area. Just tell them that you are with the other cars in the G.T.S.C.A. The parade runs from 10:00 to about 11:00. We are asked not to throw candy from the vehicles. There should be coffee and cookies there while we wait for the parade to start. Right after the Parade all our Club's participants are invited to a back yard barbecue at the Martins'. We will provide hamburgers, hot dogs and soda; if possible please bring a dish to pass or chips or even a dessert. Please call the Martins to make a reservation.
